Southampton 2 July – 10 September
I’m really pleased that my painting, the “Cabinet of Culturosities” was accepted for the biennial Southampton City Art Gallery Open. This is a themed exhibition, and the theme is, “What does culture mean to you?”
It was difficult to come up with just one thing to visually represent the breadth of the subject, so I decided to paint several. I revisited the idea behind “Shelves of Inspiration” and arranged them in an imaginary cabinet of curiosities. The resultant painting, in acrylics, is 30×30 inches on box canvas.
SWA 7-11 September
The Society of Women Artists 161st Annual Open Exhibition 2022 is to be held at the Mall Galleries in London. I’m delighted to have two pieces in the exhibition: Tendrils and Chorus Line.
