This is another scene from my walk in the Shropshire hills in January. The wall alongside the track I was following had fallen into disrepair some time ago, and had been populated by holly, rowan and oak. This was near the top of the Stiper Stones and the trees were all very weather-beaten and draped in luxuriant moss. Here a holly and a rain-darkened oak lean in opposite directions, opening the view along the line of the wall to a denser bit of micro-woodland in the middle distance.
